More than $3.4 million in federal stimulus funds and campus-wide belt-tightening helped Christopher Newport University avoid slashing its 2010 budget. The Board of Visitors on Friday approved a $112.35 million spending plan - about $3.5 million more than this year's budget.

Northrop names yard veteran Stitzel to VP post

Police search for man who robbed credit union near CNU

Police say a man who robbed a bank in Newport News today may be have red dye on him after a dye-pack exploded on him. Around noon, a man entered the Virginia Educators' Credit Union, located at 12368 Warwick Boulevard, and demanded money from a teller.

Two additional performances of the free production are today at the Downing Cross Cultural Arts Center.
